Welcome to Aimhigher East Midlands

Aimhigher is a national initiative to raise levels of participation in higher education. Working in partnership with a range of organisations, Aimhigher provides a range of activities to raise aspirations, broaden horizons and encourage learners from schools, colleges and communities where traditionally progression to higher education is relatively low.

One of nine regions in a nationally funded initiative, Aimhigher East Midlands comprises the following five areas:

Kids Aiming High

One of the East Midlands Boys into Higher Education funded projects has recently been featured on the front page of the Leicester Mercury's Sporting Blue newspaper publication.

The Using Football project was front cover news in the “Kids Aiming High” article which highlighted their visit with project coordinator Ron Collins to Loughborough University which featured a tour and of the university’s sporting facilities, a lecture from sports psychologist Darren Benedick and, the highlight for everyone, meeting Dame Kelly Holmes at the indoor athletics track.
